The Elco 1/4-20 Drilit Case Hardened Carbon Steel Self-Drilling Screws with Hex Washer Head and #5 Point is often referred to as a TEK screw, and has extended drilling capacity due to it’s extra drill tip length. The extra long drill tip allows for speedy installation into steel up to 1/2″ thick. They also have the Stalgard® coating to help with corrosion. Testing has shown no red rust or other base metal corrosion on significant surfaces after 1000 hours of 5% neutral salt spray exposure (ASTM B117).
