Cobra Hip Vent by GAF is used to remove excess heat and moisture from your attic when you have a roof with little or no ridge. As the amount of exhaust ventilation must never exceed the intake at the soffits or eaves, you must have an effective attic ventilation. Hip vent is a great way to protect your roof system from premature deterioration in these situations. One of the most important features of a home’s roof is to have balanced ventilation. Basically, you need to have the same amount of air entering the attic as there is exiting it. By installing this hip vent under your hip cap shingles, you allow moist warm air to exit out the hips of the roof.  Each ridge vent piece is 11.5″ wide to support 12″ wide hip caps and covers 4 linear feet per vent piece.
